RENOVATIONS

Renovate your pool, don't fill it in

Did you know filling in a pool now often costs more than renovating it? Foxx Pools turns a tired backyard into the one you actually want, all at once or in stages.

Where To Start

A plan that fits your yard and your budget

Most renovations start with one frustration: an aging liner, a patio that keeps settling, dated fencing, or a cover that no longer does its job. Foxx Pools looks at the whole backyard and helps you turn it from a headache into an escape.

With our design team, we are happy to provide a plan, whether you want to do everything at once or stage the work over a few seasons so the yard stays usable and the budget stays comfortable.

See it before you build it

Using Pool Studio design software, we can visualize your renovated pool and backyard before any work begins, so you know what you are getting before you commit.

What We Renovate

Four ways to refresh your pool

A pool refreshed with a new custom vinyl liner

Liner Replacement

A fresh vinyl liner is often the single biggest change you can make to an older inground pool. Foxx Pools custom-measures every liner to the actual pool for a guaranteed fit, and a replacement is frequently the first step that leads into a larger refresh.

Patio Renovations

The right patio changes how the whole backyard feels and functions. Foxx Pools works with paver and stone lines from suppliers like Unilock, Belgard, and Artistic Pavers to build a surface that fits your use, your furniture, and the maintenance you actually want to do.

Real Projects

Before and after in the Hudson Valley

A fully renovated inground pool with a new paver patio in New Paltz, New York

New Paltz, NY

A retired couple contacted us to replace their pool liner. The wife asked if there was any way to stop the patio from settling around the coping every year, which left her husband re-leveling for one to two weeks every spring. What started as a simple liner replacement became a complete overhaul: a new liner, a paver patio laid over a concrete pad, and a waterfall spa cascading into the pool. Now, every time we open, all they have to do is set out their decorations, vacuum the pool, and turn on the heater.

A renovated 1960s concrete pool with new coping and black aluminum fencing in Boiceville, New York

Boiceville, NY

The owners of this 1960s concrete pool wanted a new and different look. Using Artistic Pavers renovation coping and Tumblelock patio stone, we created the more modern feel they were after. We also replaced their chain-link fencing with black aluminum, which let the pool area blend with their country-style home.

Patios

What to consider when planning a patio

What will you use the patio for?

It sounds simple, but the answer drives the material. If you do a lot of entertaining, or have small children and pets running around, a finish that stains easily (like some quartz pavers) may not be the best choice.

What furniture setup are you planning?

Plan for about 4 feet by 9 feet for each lounge chair to be comfortable. A 48-inch round dining table with four chairs fits nicely within a 10-foot-6-inch round or square patio. Mapping the furniture first keeps the patio sized right.

How much maintenance are you willing to do?

Stamped concrete is beautiful but needs annual sealing. Plain concrete cleans up easily. Wood looks great but is high maintenance unless you invest in bamboo or mahogany. Pavers are the most popular today because most styles need very little upkeep.

Winter Covers

Three ways to protect the pool off season

Safety covers

$$ to $$$
  • Woven mesh lets water pass through into the pool instead of pooling on top.
  • Made to the shape of the pool and installed properly, they act as a safety barrier against a person, child, or animal entering the water.
  • Anchors are drilled into the deck or surround, so professional installation is recommended.
  • A tear can be repaired, and with good care the average life span is 12 to 15 years.

Automatic covers

$$$$$
  • Solid, mechanical covers that let you close the pool after every use and act as an isolation barrier.
  • Best paired with new construction, but track and system options can be retrofitted onto most existing rectangles and many custom shapes.
  • Chemical and fade resistant, they help retain heat and keep cleaning to a minimum.

Waterbag covers

$ to $$
  • The most traditional and least expensive option.
  • Held in place by water tubes and available in solid or porous weaves and varying thicknesses.
  • Ours are cut 5 feet longer and wider than the pool for full coverage, and they must be pumped off during the off season.
  • Average life is 3 to 5 years depending on care.

Fencing is an important choice. It can change the entire atmosphere of your backyard while keeping the pool area code-compliant.
